SYNOPSIS

Cath and Wren are identical twins and until recently they did absolutely everything together. Now they're off to university and Wren's decided she doesn't want to be one half of a pair any more - she wants to dance, meet boys, go to parties, and let loose. It's not so easy for Cath. She would rather bury herself in the fanfiction she writes where there's romance far more intense than anything she's experienced in real life.

Now Cath has to decide whether she's ready to open her heart to new people and new experiences, and she's realizing that there's more to learn about love than she ever thought possible...

WHAT I THINK

Wow. Well, Fangirl definitely changed my mind about Rainbow Rowell's books! I didn't like Landline very much but I did enjoy reading this one.

When I started reading I was like "wait, is this book about me?". I seriously can identify with Cath a lot. Actually it was like reading about my own life, like she is me, I'm exactly the same. That's probably the reason I was very irritated by her sometimes and it made me want to kick myself, lol.
There were this one gesture that made me thinking (and trying) why would one do that and how? Those times when they were "tapping their front teeth with their tongue" (I think it went something like that, my mark went missing from those points). Like how and why would you do that? That feels and looks ridiculous! Or maybe I just have too short tongue?

Now I'm just going to keep saying he because I think this would be spoiler otherwise. Though if you don't want to know about the romance, I suggest you stop reading now and continue to the next paragraph starting with the word fangirl.

I had one serious love-hate relationship with him! Like first I was all swooning over him and then stuff happened and I was saying the same as Reagan: shit, shit, shit. But then he got to know that Cath had seen him and that was really a problem and he manned up (can I say that) and went to talk to her. There were times when I was rooting for him and times when I was not sure if I still hated him. Then there was this:
"Touching," he said. "I want to touch you. Hold you. I want to sit right next to you, even when there are other options." She took a deep breath. She felt like she owed it to him to keep talking. To at least reciprocate this conversation. "I want to touch you, too."
I was all cheering, FINALLY GIRL! I would have been all over him already, he's a real catch you know. But I truly understand her points of views, I was the same before with my fiance. End of possible spoiler

Fangirl, being a Young Adult contemporary has a big part in me liking this book, I think. Though I'm still kind of struggling between 3,5 and 4 stars. I liked this book and enjoyed reading it but there still is something that didn't get me love this book. I'm giving it the total 3,5 stars but I'll round it up to four at Goodreads.
